From feeding the homeless, collecting cans to donating to food banks, visiting nursing homes, and playing with children, the Living Vine Fellowship looks to serve others in any way we can.

If you have any other suggestions as to how we can help or be involved in a community service/outreach, don't hesitate to talk to Danielle Chung or Alice Cho at church!

Past Community Service Efforts

On Sept. 19th, 15 LVF members went up to Seattle to serve food to the homeless. It was fast paced- EXCITING- work. There were a lot of people who came to eat and cleaning up was a big job, but overall through the Union Gospel program, we helped to feed many hungry in the city of Seattle.

For our 2009 Summer Youth Rally, a group of youth               went to Hallmark Manor Nursing home to cheer the              patients in the Hospice program. We sang songs,                       prayed, told stories, and spoke with them
in hopes that they may be blessed and happier.

We found that the Emergency Feeding Program in Seattle focused on healthy, nutritional food, that had 6 meals inside, and packs that were for people with specific dietary needs. We helped make 3 of the different packs of the 15 that they offered. :] Each package of food required a specific amount of each food item and so we made sure to put them in and sack them up for it to later be given to the people who needed it.

We went to CityTeam on a December day, when Christmas
was coming soon. Upon arrival, we basically helped to decorate the
facility and to sing Christmas songs when people started to comein.
The main staff/leaders of CityTeam had prepared the food already
so we became servers and helped. We are glad that we could give
them a Christmas filled with songs and a full stomach.

During the '08 Year, the Living Vine Fellowship volunteered for this GREAT statewide hunger relief agency every 1st Sabbath of the month. We got to package food like rice, chocolate, green beans, dried apples, and harvested apples, corn, etc. All the kids even had a hand in serving and it was a lot of fun. We went as a big church group and they needed all of us to work together to build up boxes, tape them, label bags, put food in, and so forth.
